Richard joined Tecnon OrbiChem’s Individual Client Study Group after 25 years’ management roles in the chemical industry, mostly in the PTA and PET businesses.

Latterly he was sales and marketing director for La Seda de Barcelona, Spain. Over 1978-2006 he was mostly involved in the polyester activities of ICI and then DuPont and later DuPontSA as the business was successively taken over by DuPont and then Sabanci. Over 1978-1993 he progressed through various positions as research scientist, plant process engineer, marketing manager and finally business manager of PET films. After a couple of years engaged in chemicals trading he returned to the polyester sector, becoming Business Director for ICI and then DuPont in the Polyester Division. DuPont later formed a joint venture with Sabanci, for which Richard became responsible for marketing and general management, mainly involving PTA and PET bottle resin.

Richard has a degree in physics from Bristol University, UK.
